#1 Bob Kathman, Director.  Term expires  6/30/2021
1966-1984 (18 years) — Worked on wildfires for the Forest Service in Montana both as basic firefighter and a supervisor; was a fire prevention and fuels management assistant before moving to Oregon.
1975-1984 (9 years)–Active EMT, co-founder and president of a volunteer ambulance service for a community and service area of approximately 2500 people in a small town in western Montana.
1986 to present – (29 years) — Active participation on both national and area Incident Management Teams that has mainly responded to large wildfires but also involvement on notable all-risk assignments such as the World Trade Center (9/11), Columbia Space Shuttle Recovery, Hurricane Ivan, and the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Retired 30 years Communication Consultant, 20 years Alfalfa property owner, currently Secretary
of Cascades View Estates Road District – 5th year.

#3 Nate Starr, President  Term expires  6/30/2023
Nathan (Nate) Starr has lived in Central Oregon since July of 1998 when he came here to work with Bend Lock and Safe as a locksmith and still works weekend emergency calls for them. In 2001, Nate transitioned into healthcare maintenance with Bend Memorial Clinic and has been the Director of Facilities since 2008. While at BMC he has been in charge of building development and remodels. His recent accomplishment was the 815 Bond Street building where was in charge of the remodel and conversion of the 42,000 sq. ft. building into the BMC primary care clinic. He also was in charge of the conversion of the 17,800 sq. ft. Redmond Clinic from a shell building into another BMC primary care facility.

Nate served our country as an Army Infantryman stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Nate and his wife Rita have two children, Katelyn 21 and Daniel 19. Nate enjoys the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is involved in many activities in within the Alfalfa community.
